This high cross is found in Co. Meath. The cross of St. Patrick and St. Columba is just one of 5 high crosses to be found in Kells monastery. Erected in the 9th century this cross stands 3.3m tall and is made from sandstone. Scenes depicted on the cross include Adam and Eve, Daniel in the Lions Den and Cain slaying Abel. OS Map 42: N 7391 7587

Irish Cross not Celtic

With increasing more evidence of the last number of years it has been proven that the celts never did come to Ireland . So these crosses are Irish not Celtic . There’s a good article a few year back in the Irish times “ We’re not Celtic we’re copycats ‘ you should check it out
